Sometimes people focus so heavily on making sure they get the big pieces right, such as the sofa or bed, that the accents are neglected and not well thought out. Accents in a space can really make or break the design or style of the home.
This is what makes a designer so valuable, our ability to look past the big pieces and envision a whole space that uniquely and accurately represents you. The personality of your home shines through when you have granny smith apples to bring back memories of your mama's apple pie or a "bonjour " pillow from your latest trip to France.
As an interior designer, I believe in showcasing the details because together they create a home unique to you. Do not forget the power that accents play in a whole home design and just because an accent is small does not mean you should skimp on its quality or design.
